Think about it? Huh? Huh? You hear what I am saying. The greatest hero of Philadelphia may be fictional but lets face it his actions and words are principals to live by, especially in Philly.

This idea was spawned in a conversation with Dave Speers last night at the T-Shirt Brainstorming Session at Indy Hall. Speers wanted to see a design with the concept: What would Rocky Do? Original ideas were to use images of Saints with Rock’s beat up mug superimposed over the solemn gaze of religious figures.

As I started to look around the web for images I remembered seeing an Illustration done by the peeps at Uberpiglet featuring Rocky. I took their illustration and tweaked it just a bit for this wallpaper. I am not used to using “stock” as the main element in a piece but I needed to get this Wallpaper Wednesday in the can ASAP.

I want to apologize to fans of the thread, work has been busier than ever and my move to the city was a difficult one. For that reason it has been hard to keep up with a new wallpaper every week. I try my best to get one up here every week but it sometimes does not work out that way. With the upcoming new year the additions to the thread should be more regular. I hope I did not disappoint any of you last week, or any other week I missed the edition.

Now remember the only reason Rocky fought was because he could not sing or dance!

So over a lunch one sunny day at Independents Hall, Alex told me that Elliot from Hackaday.com had my Hitchhikers Guide wallpaper on his laptop. To say the least I was very excited that a founder of one of my favorite blogs was sporting one of my savory pieces of eye candy. Hey all, this week was a little nuts so I am late with the Wallpaper Wednesday. To make up for my tardiness I have made two wallpapers in preparation for movie night at Independents Hall. The first is in support of our favorite security company Initech. Office Space is one of my favorite movies, and its humor accurately depicts the mundane life of a corporate lacky. My boy Peter Gibbons would love this one. The second is for Scott Howard and all the Beacon High School Beavers, or should I say wolves! So, I cheated you all out of a Wallpaper last Wednesday and for that I am truly sorry. Work has been coming in from all over and last week I could not handle all I had to do and a Wallpaper. Most of the work that has been hitting my desk is Wordpress based sites. Since I am working on so many at once I began to think that I should give something back to the WP community. I love Wordpress and have been training myself with it for over 3 years now. Jason Tremblay and I have been talking about writing a plug-in together, and I have a few themes that I will be releasing after the new version of my site hits the servers in December. It is only now that I have become pretty good at building Wordpress sites and can call my self an experienced user. With that I decided to create a Wordpress Wallpaper for the rest of the keypunching WP users and devo types! The complete wallpaper package below comes with regular, wide screen and iPhone versions. So after a week off, Wallpaper Wednesday returns with a ode to the most famous computer in history HAL-9000. I have been wanting to do a HAL themed wallpaper for a while and this will probably be the first of many that I do. Since I was young I have been a fan of 2001: A Space Odyssey and it’s subsequent films and books. The whole idea fascinates me and HAL was the most fascinating of them all. The events that follow the 2010 story line make HAL even more interesting. If you have not read past 2010, go get yourself a copy of 3001: The Final Odyssey. It is well worth it. So with the MLB playoffs about to begin, I figured it would be cool to provide iPhone backgrounds for all the teams in the playoffs. Being a Phillies Phan it was difficult to give any other team’s fans anything, however in the tradition of good sportsmanship I guess I was able to bare it. An infinite world of information at your finger tips. So to make the iPhone more like the guide I created a background using the Hitchhiker logo specifically for the iPhone.
